2022 was a very positive year for horror cinema. Although we can discuss the quality teacher – and by the way, I think last year has succeeded compared to previous years – it cannot be ignored that there are some impressive successes at the box office. One of the possible explanations is that horror movies are suitable for watching on the big screen, with a few viewers screaming, laughing, laughing, etc. The reason is that many horror films appeal to teenagers and youth, an audience that is still sure to go to cinemas as social energy, contributes to this.
So what is the highest horror movie in 2022? To answer this question, we conducted a two -level test: the first is a global success, that is, in all the countries where the film was shown. The second criterion of comparison is the box office achievements in the United States and Canada. The results are very interesting, with many causes of smile.
Horror movie Horror 2022: “Smile”
First of all, there were some impressive successes in the horror sector in 2022. There is no doubt that the most successful movie is “Smile”, which has so far achieved more than $ 216 million worldwide – and more than that, its budget is relatively small (about $ 17 million). “Both” in Jordan Bell came second, reaching more than $ 171 million worldwide. The film, which deals with a foreign invasion of a small town in California, was produced with a budget of approximately four times. Later, we will return to the most impressive achievement of “both” in the American arena.
The third place was reached by “The Black Phone”, with Eitan Hook, who won revenues of about $ 161 million. The fifth film concerned (and somewhat disappointing) in the “screaming” privilege is fourth, with about 140 million dollars. We all hope that the sixth movie, which will come soon, will be more successful. Another supplement did not meet the expectations of most Slasher fans, “Halloween: The End”, but at least they performed well at the box office. It stands in fifth place with about $ 104 million in profits all over the world.

Is “Smile” the most successful horror movie in the United States? no!

Here, you can see a reflection at the top when it occupies the first place “NOPE”, which succeeded in the United States: 72 % of the total of the movie came from the United States and Canada.
The reason for this may be that Jordan Bell, who is known to deal in its films with the burning racist issues in the United States and the discrimination against blacks, speaks a lot to the American public. “Smile” stands second, with about $ 106,000 million, which, as we mentioned, did not prevent it from being the most profitable movie all over the world.
