An animated horror film inspired by Goya in the works Cinemax
The creators of the famous animated feature film Love Vincent are now turning their attention to a horror-inspired project based on the life of Spanish painter Francisco Goya, according to an article published on Deadline. The animated film will be titled Cave of Dreams.
Goya was a Spanish Romantic painter and printmaker, widely considered the most influential Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Horror fans may have stumbled upon his work when one of his paintings appeared in the book. Vampires, zombies and monster men by Daniel Farson.
Hugh Welchman, co-director of Loving Vincent, spoke about the upcoming Goya project at Iberseries in Madrid, Spain.
“Our next project will be based on Goya’s paintings and mainly his dark paintings and his later works. It will be a painted animation horror film,” he said at the session. “It will be such an important project that we will probably have at least four co-producers in Spain, and probably four more outside.”
