Review – Sleep. Go. Kill. Cinemax

Soooooo Sleep Walk Kill, let me start by saying this: If you watch this and your opinion differs from mine, ok. If you think this movie wasn’t good or worthwhile, you’re wrong.

I liked the premise.

I have never seen or heard the concept presented in the story. That gets me huge bonus points. So many ideas have been recycled over and over again, and this was original. I thought the characters in the film fit the roles portrayed well, with the exception of the actress who played “Hazel.” For me she was the best of the bunch. Her facial expressions, mannerisms and general charisma really fit the character. She brought the spooky at the right time and was never over the top. Everyone involved did a good job. If you regularly watch films of this type, you should know what you are getting yourself into. You’re not going to get Sir Lawrence Olivier, you’re going to get people who wanted to do something and did their best to bring it out. As a viewer, accept that and move on. These people did a good job.

(As a side note, everyone thinks they can do it until they have to. Then the wheels come off.)

I’m not the type to reveal spoilers or give hints about results, so I won’t do that.

But “this is my last sheet” made me laugh! A big compliment for the delivery.

I have to say that the last 4-5 minutes of this movie were AWESOME. I really enjoyed it and the final scene matched the mood perfectly.

A solid 2.75 out of 5 stars and with a little better scene editing here and there and a little less rush at the beginning it could have easily been a 3.5-3.75.

So remember to look at this as it is and don’t compare it to anything else because it is good and stands on its own. Stop expecting every indie film to be Donnie Darko and take each one for what it is, a labor of love for someone, and just accept it for that. Then you can have some fun.
